25 June–31 August 2003

Laur Anderson Barbata's exhibition in the Kiscell Museum is the first solo show in Hungary of theis Mexican artist. Twelve of the installations come directly from the Hermann Gallery in Berlin, and two are created in situ by the artist. Barbata's works have a deep social and ecological intention. Since 1992, the artist worked on a number of projects in different ethnic communities in Latin America; mostly in Ecuador, Venezuela and Trinidad. The installations at the Kiscell Museum aim to show a complex symbolic message about the conservation of the cultural and ecological heritage of Mexico. Supported by the Mexican Embassy, Laura Anderson Barbata's exhibition opens on June  at 18:00 with the artist present.
